As per reports in the Korea Economic Daily, the next generation smartphone in the Galaxy series, the Galaxy S III has raked in 9 million pre-orders around the world. The newspaper quoted an unidentified Samsung official who also said that company's factory in Korea is producing about 5 million units a month.
The smartphone features a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, an 8MP camera and is powered by Android 4.0 commonly known as Ice Cream Sandwich. It is expected to first go on sale in Germany on May 29 while other countries wait for their turn. India will receive the company's flagship device in the
first week of June.
Just recently, research firm Gartner announced that Samsung had reclaimed the
number one smartphone position from Apple in the global mobile market.
