Notably, the launch price of the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3-VE is in-line with what an established Mumbai-based retailer claimed earlier this week.
The new Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3-VE (SM-G316HU) runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) TFT display. The smartphone packs an updated dual-core 1.2GHz processor, instead of the dual-core 1.0GHz processor in the original Galaxy S Duos 3 (SM-G313HU) launched in September last year.
The dual-SIM based Galaxy S Duos 3 (SM-G316HH) sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, just like the previous model, while there is no information on the front-facing camera. The smartphone comes with 4GB of onboard storage, which is further expandable by microSD card (up to 64GB).
Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, GLONASS, Micro-USB, and FM radio. Unfortunately, the official listing has no mention about 3G connectivity support on the handset, which if missing will be the biggest drawback.
The handset is backed by a 1500mAh battery, which is again an upgrade over the original Galaxy S Duos 3 that included a 1300mAh battery. The smartphone measures 121.4x62.9x10.8mm and weighs 124 grams.
To refresh, Samsung had launched the original Galaxy S Duos 3 (SM-G313HU) device at Rs. 8,150 last year. The device is still available via Samsung India e-store at a price of Rs. 6,850.
