According to retailer Mahesh Telecom, who posted the details of the new phone on Monday, said Samsung hasn't changed the name of the smartphone, but added comes with a different model number and updated specifications.
The new Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 (SM-G316HU) runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and features a 4-inch (unknown resolution) display. The smartphone packs an updated dual-core 1.2GHz processor, instead of a dual-core 1.0GHz processor in original Galaxy S Duos 3 (SM-G313HU) launched in September last year.
Apart from that, the Galaxy S Duos 3 (SM-G316HU) is said to feature a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, just like the previous model, while there is no information on the front-facing camera.
The smartphone comes with 4GB of onboard storage, which is further expandable by microSD card (up to 32GB). Connectivity options are tipped to include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Micro-USB, and FM radio. The handset will be backed by a 1500mAh battery, just like the original Galaxy S Duos 3. It will also support 14 regional languages, notes the retailer.
To refresh, Samsung had launched the original Galaxy S Duos 3 (SM-G313HU) device at Rs. 8,150, last year alongside the Galaxy Star 2. The device is still available via Samsung e-store at a price of Rs. 6,850.
