Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 Neo, the 'lite' variant of the Galaxy Note 3,
has started receiving the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update in India. The
latest Android update for the
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo smartphone is
now available over-the-air (OTA). One of Gadgets 360's readers has sent
screenshot of
update notification on the Galaxy Note 3 Neo.
Users can manually check
for the update via Settings> About Phone> System Update on their
handsets. The Lollipop update brings a lot of new features to the Galaxy
Note 3 Neo, apart from bringing a new OS.
Samsung had confirmed
that the Galaxy Note 3 Neo would receive Android Lollipop update last year. The company however only now appears to have started
pushing the update out in India.

Some of the features that the
update brings include more visible and accessible notifications. The
update notification clearly notes that users will notice a decrease of
950MB in memory after upgrading to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The
notification also says that the update will require minimum of 3GB of
space to complete the upgrade.
To refresh, the Samsung Galaxy Note
3 Neo was launched in January 2014 and ran Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.
Earlier
this month, Samsung India started rolling out the Android December security update for the Galaxy Note
5. The Galaxy Note 5's security update brought improvements to voice
calls, apart from security enhancements.
Samsung last week
unveiled the dual-SIM variant of the Galaxy Note 5 phablet in India. Priced at
Rs. 51,400, the 32GB inbuilt storage variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note
5 Dual SIM went on sale via Samsung's India eStore.
