Samsung Galaxy Note 10 million and counting

Samsung has announced that the company has reached a milestone of selling 10 million units globally of its original Galaxy Note device. Originally showcased at the IFA 2011. Samsung Galaxy Note started retailing nine months ago. As it is a hybrid device between a tablet and smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Note is also referred as 'phablet'.

The Korean handset maker had earlier set the target of selling 10 million units of Samsung Galaxy Note worldwide by the end of 2012. However, at the US launch event of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Samsung shared that it had already achieved the target with four months to spare.

Samsung Galaxy Note has a 5.3-inch HD display, a dual-core 1.4GHz Exynos processor, 32GB of internal storage, and an 8 megapixel camera. The company had reached the milestone of selling 5 million units globally in March 2012. Later, in July Samsung had stated that it had passed the 7 million sales mark for this device.

Samsung has already rolled out Android 4.0.4 update for Galaxy Note, and has assured that the Jelly Bean update for this device is in the works.

There are also rumours that Samsung may soon launch a successor to Galaxy Note, at the IFA 2012. It is also being speculated that the Galaxy Note II will featuring a 5.5-inch display. However, the existence of Samsung Galaxy Note II has not been confirmed by the company so far.
