Samsung has introduced its new Galaxy J7 Prime smartphone in Vietnam. The new J-series smartphone has been priced at VND 6,290,000 (roughly Rs. 19,000) and will be available starting September 23 in Vietnam. Unfortunately, Samsung has not revealed plans to make its Galaxy J7 Prime smartphone available in more markets.
For specifications, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display and is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The front also sports the 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It packs 3GB of RAM and comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage. The handset supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 256GB).
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime supports dual-SIM (both Micro-SIMs). It packs 3300mAh battery and features fingerprint scanner at the front embedded in the home button. The handset sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture with LED flash. The rear camera also sports full-HD video recording. There is an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/1.9 aperture. It measures 151.5x74.9x8.1mm and packs a 3300mAh battery. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G, W-Fi, USB-OTG, and Micro-USB. The handset supports LTE Cat. 4 download speeds.
Samsung recently also unveiled its first smartphone featuring a digital TV tuner, the Galaxy J2 DTV. The new Galaxy J-series smartphone was launched exclusively in Philippines. The biggest highlight of the Samsung Galaxy J2 DTV is its capability to broadcast television on the phone. It has been priced at PHP 6,990 (approximately Rs. 10,000) and is expected to be available online.
