The leaked brochure was sourced by a Dutch blog, and indicates the successor to the Galaxy Golden will be launched on mobile carrier China Telecom. The unannounced Samsung Galaxy Golden 2 (SM-W2015) dual-screen flip phone is listed to feature Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and two 4.6-inch Super AMOLED displays with the same 768x1280 pixel resolution, an upgrade from the two 3.7-inch Super AMOLED displays on the Samsung Galaxy Golden.
Under the hood, the alleged Galaxy Golden 2 (SM-W2015) is listed to pack a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 Krait 400 SoC with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU.
The rear camera of the unannounced Galaxy Golden 2 (SM-W2015) smartphone as per the leaked brochure features a 16-megapixel sensor, while the front-camera is seen to feature a 2-megapixel sensor. According to the report, both cameras will be able to record videos in 4K as well.
The report further suggests that Samsung will not release the alleged Galaxy Golden 2 for the European market, just like the Galaxy Golden.
Notably, Samsung had launched the Galaxy Golden for Korea in August last year, through operators SKT and KT. The dual-screen flip smartphone made its debut in India in October the same year. The Galaxy Golden ran Android 4.2 Jelly Bean; sported two 3.7-inch Super AMOLED displays; a 1.7GHz dual-core processor (unspecified chipset) along with 1.5GB of RAM; an 8-megapixel rear camera; a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera; 16GB of inbuilt storage expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB), and a 1820mAh battery. For the latest tech news and reviews, follow Gadgets 360 on X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads and Google News.
