Samsung has announced a new entry-level Android smartphone, dubbed Galaxy Core Advance. Unfortunately, the company has not revealed the price for the smartphone.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Core Advance will be available in two colour variants - Deep Blue and Pearl White - and will hit markets by early next year.

The Samsung Galaxy Core Advance is part of the Galaxy Core line-up which includes Galaxy Core launched in May this year and Galaxy Core Plus, launched in November this year.

Unlike other Galaxy Core smartphones, the Galaxy Core Advance comes with a design overhaul and is a single SIM device. The South Korean handset maker claims that the Galaxy Core Advance comes with number of usability functions and enhanced accessibility features for disabled and visually impaired users.

Some of the usability and accessibility features include optical scan that can recognize text from an image and reads it aloud; light sensing technology, which uses the device's camera to sense light direction and brightness, and instant voice recorder which gives access to make quick voice notes. Samsung has also equipped the Galaxy Core Advance with screen curtain that enables users to operate commands on a black screen and saves battery life.

The Samsung Galaxy Core Advance runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top. It features a 4.7-inch TFT display with a 480x800 (WVGA) pixels resolution. Powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (unspecified chipset), the Galaxy Core Advance has 1GB of RAM. It sports a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with a LED flash and a VGA front facing camera.

The Galaxy Core Advance offers 8GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card. It also offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC, 3G and GPS connectivity options. The phone comes with a 2000mAh battery.
