Reports have been tipping that Samsung's rumoured upcoming Galaxy A-series smartphones - Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7 - are due to launch soon.

Now, giving more credence to the claims, the Galaxy A3 (SM-A300) is said to have passed through a Chinese certification authority, complete with specifications. MySamsungPhones.com spotted the listing first and claims that the rumoured Galaxy A3, which is likely to be the cheapest of the alleged Samsung A series line-up, has been certified for sale in China by Tenaa - the Chinese equivalent of the US FCC.

The purported Tenaa listing of the Samsung SM-A300 (said to be listed as SM-A300X) tips some specifications, such as Android 4.4.4 KitKat; a 4.5-inch OLED qHD (540x960 pixels) display; 1GB of RAM; 8GB inbuilt storage; expandable storage support up to 64GB (via microSD card); 8-megapixel rear camera; 5-megapixel front camera; 112 gram weight, and 130.1x65.5x6.9mm.

Most of the purported specifications of the alleged Galaxy A3 do not go in-line with previous leaks, as the handset was rumoured to come with a 4.8-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) display; 1.4GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC; 1GB of RAM; a 7-megapixel rear camera; a 4.7-megapixel front-facing camera; 8GB internal storage and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

MySamsungPhones also lists some alleged model numbers of variants of the Samsung Galaxy A3 'SM-A300', namely SM-A3000, SM-A3009, SM-A300H, SM-A300F, SM-A300F/DS, SM-A300G, SM-A300G/DS, SM-A300F/DS, SM-A300G/DS, SM-A300H/DS, and SM-A300YZ. Unfortunately, the SM-A300X Tenaa listing appears not to have images of the handset, as the website has not posted them.

Notably, the Samsung SM-A500 smartphone has reportedly already passed Tenaa certification in China as the SM-A5000.

A report on Thursday tipped prices of the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy A-series smartphones and suggested that the alleged Galaxy A3 will likely include LTE support and be priced between $350 and $400 (roughly Rs. 21,000-24,500). The alleged Galaxy A5 was rumoured said to be priced between $400 to $450 (roughly Rs. 24,500-27,500), while the Galaxy A7 has been expected to arrive between $450 and $500 (roughly Rs. 24,500-30,500).

In addition to tipping prices of the anticipated Galaxy A series smartphones, the report also claimed that the rumoured Galaxy A7 will only be available in limited countries, unlike the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5.
