Samsung has sent invites for a press event to be held in Mumbai on Tuesday, and the firm is expected to launch the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones in India.
While the company hasn't detailed precisely what it will be launched at Tuesday's event, Samsung says it will feature an "exclusive preview of the latest innovations that bring a confluence of style and technology."
With that hint, the metal-clad Samsung Galaxy A3 and Samsung Galaxy A5 are expected to be launched in India, the only 'style'-centric smartphones launched by the company in recent times globally.
In the meanwhile, an established retailer from Mumbai with a decent track record for leaks has further cemented the speculation that these two phones will launch on Tuesday, with a tweet on Friday saying the two phones are "coming very soon."
The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A5 include a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) Super-Amoled display; 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor; 2GB of RAM; 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel camera; 16GB built-in storage expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB), and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
The Galaxy A3 on the other hand comes with 4.5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) Super-Amoled display; 1.2GHz quad-core processor; 1GB of RAM; 16GB inbuilt storage; expandable storage support via microSD card (up to 64GB); 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash; 5-megapixel front camera, and Android 4.4 KitKat.
Both the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 were launched back in October, however, reportedly faced several supply issues delaying their arrival in launch markets. The smartphones first made their way to China in November, and only began rolling out in December in other markets. The Galaxy A5 has been priced at CNY 2,599 (approximately Rs. 26,000) in China, while the Galaxy A3 has been priced at CNY 1,998 (approximately Rs. 20,300).
