Successors of the existing Samsung Galaxy A smartphone series may include fingerprint sensors. The smartphones namely Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016), Galaxy A7 (2016) and Galaxy A9 are rumoured to feature a fingerprint sensor on their device home buttons like other previously launched Galaxy handsets.
The news was tipped by HDBlog writer Antonio Monaco. Although Samsung has not yet confirmed the existence of any of the next-gen Galaxy A series smartphones, it does seem to be a possibility. It's worth noting that the fingerprint scanner feature has until now only been in top-end Samsung smartphones, such as Galaxy S flagships and Galaxy Note series. It was also introduced in the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, the forerunner of the Galaxy A-series, but never did made it to the Galaxy A-series.
A report from last week suggested that Samsung's high-end smartphone features such as fingerprint scanner and Samsung Pay mobile payment may soon make it to budget smartphones. Also added was that one of the major obstacles in the adoption of the fingerprint scanner and Samsung Pay features may be the price. The move is said to be inspired by the South Korean company's performance in emerging markets with low-end handsets. Details about any launch time-frame is limited as of now. The addition of fingerprint scanner and Samsung Pay will not only add to the feature list of the company's low-end smartphone but will also attract consumers.
