Redmi Y3 leaks started cropping up last month, and now the phone has been teased to launch in India soon. The phone has still not been officially unveiled, and teasers are cropping up in China as well. It looks like Xiaomi could launch the Redmi Y3 in India and China simultaneously, or one after the other, soon. The company's teasers suggest that the phone will come with a 32-megapiel selfie sensor. Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro in India last month.

Redmi India has tweeted a teaser confirming that a new Redmi phone is coming soon to India. The video attached to the tweet has India chief Manu Kumar Jain taking a string of selfies with the upcoming phone. Jain confirmed that he took 32 selfies with his colleagues, hinting further at the 32-megapixel selfie sensor. The Redmi India tweet also stresses on the hashtag #YYY, indicating that a ‘Y' series phone will be launched soon.

In China, Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing took to Weibo to confirm that a 32-megapixel selfie camera Redmi phone is indeed in the works, and asked users to guess the name of the phone. All of this points towards a new selfie-focused phone that could arrive as the successor to the Redmi Y2, the global variant of China's Redmi S2. It could thus be called the Redmi S3 in China.

The Redmi Y3 could use Samsung's 32-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GD1 image sensor that was announced in October last year - alongside unveiling the 48-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor. The 48-megapixel sensor was integrated into the Redmi Note 7 in China.

Noted tipster Ishan Agarwal recently mentioned that the Redmi Y3 is one of Xiaomi's upcoming phones for the Indian market. He also mentioned the Redmi 7 and Redmi 7A to be in the offing. Interestingly, Redmi Y3 was spotted on Wi-Fi Alliance last month with running MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. There's no word on the Redmi Y3 availability in both the regions at the moment.
