Realme has started to roll out the ColorOS 5.2 update for the Realme 1 smartphone. The release comes almost a month after the company had given early access to the software update to select customers. Available over-the-air (OTA), the Realme 1 update is being pushed in a phased manner with a select number of users getting it today, followed by a wider availability over the coming days. According to the company, it is aiming to finish the rollout in the first weeks of January, unless any bugs are spotted by the consumers.
In a post on the company's official forum, Realme revealed that if consumers don't want to wait for the OTA update, they can download the update package from its website and install it manually using the instructions shared by the company. The software update carries the build number CPH1861EX_11.A.27.
As per the official changelog, the ColorOS 5.2 update adds the ability to use the improved beauty mode and vivid mode simultaneously. The Realme 1 owners will also be able to add author watermark to their snaps after this update. Additionally, the company has included December Google security patch in the software update.
It is unclear if the three features that were changed in the beta version – optimised quality of the bokeh on the front camera, ongoing notification in various modes, and disabled yellow status bar blinking – are present in the final version as well.
Realme has revealed that it will soon release the ColorOS 5.2 update for the Realme 2 smartphone as well - earlier, it had scheduled a release by the end of December, and it is uncertain if that will still happen. There is no word on ColorOS 5.2's release date for the Realme C1, but the phone is supposed to get the update in the coming days. To recall, select users of the Realme 1 started receiving their update in late November. The company has also promised to provide the Android Pie update for all Realme smartphones in the first or second quarter of the next year.
