Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 has been launched in India as the company's first 'Big View Display' (18:9 aspect ratio) smartphone. The new offering comes at Rs. 8,999 and will be available for purchase exclusively through Flipkart starting April 5. It features Black, Blue, and Gold colour options and features a front-facing LED flash to enhance selfies. The latest Panasonic model will counter the of the Redmi 5 that is delivering a similar display experience starting from Rs. 7,999.
The dual-SIM Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 runs Android 7.0 Nougat and has a 5.7-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved glass protection. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737H SoC, paired with 3GB of RAM. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor with an autofocus lens on top, coupled with an LED flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front camera sensor along with an LED flash.
Panasonic has provided 32GB of onboard storage on the Eluga Ray 550 that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). In terms of connectivity, there is 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, and Micro-USB port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. The smartphone also has a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. Besides, there is a 3250mAh battery, and the handset measures 152.5x73.3x8.5mm.
