Oppo, after launching its R7, R7 Plus, and R7 Lite, is set to introduce a new handset in the series named Oppo R7s. The smartphone would see the light of the day on October 18 in Dubai at a company event.
The launch would occur during the GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition), reports Android HD Blog website. While the Chinese smartphone maker has not yet revealed the details about the smartphone, the handset recently showed up at Tenaa certification website revealing some specifications.
As per the listing, the Oppo R7s would feature a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution Amoled display and would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, clubbed with 3GB RAM. The handset will house 32GB of inbuilt storage. 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera is also included. The Android 5.5.1 Lollipop-based smartphone would be backed by a 4100mAh battery, will measure 151.8x75.4x6.7mm and weigh 200 grams.
Oppo last month launched the R7 Lite and and R7 Plus smartphones in India, priced at Rs. 17,990 and Rs. 29,990. Both the smartphones support dual-SIM functionality and 4G LTE bands in India. It also introduced its slim R5 smartphone globally. The smartphone retains one of the highlight features of its predecessor - the 4.85mm thickness and also brings few improvements. The firm last month was said to be in talks with electronics assembly manufacturer Foxconn to start an assembly line for its smartphones in the Sri City plant special economic zone in Andhra Pradesh.
