As per GSMArena, Oppo has announced the Oppo R1x smartphone for global launch in mid-to-late April this year - but not revealed the price. The specifications of the handset are said to be identical to the Oppo R1C, which was launched at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 25,000).
The highlight of the OppoR1C is its high-strength CNC frame and sapphire-faceted back panel. It supports dual-SIM and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box, though we are hoping that Oppo might upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop when it's launched globally.
Upfront, the Oppo R1C includes a 5-inch "Pixel Eye" HD (720x1280 pixels) display, and a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. Cameras on the device are a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The 16GB built-in storage on the Oppo R1C is further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). The smartphone includes 4G LTE support apart from the standard connectivity options. The battery size is 2420mAh and thickness of the device is 6.8mm. It is said to launch two colour options Blue and White.
Last month, Oppo had launched the R5 in India in a limited edition avatar at Rs. 29,990. The Oppo R5 Gilded Limited Edition is same as the original Oppo R5 specification-wise. The company will only sell 10,000 units of the Oppo R5 Gilded Limited Edition smartphones globally. Unfortunately, the company has not revealed the number of units available for the Indian market. The highlight of the Oppo R5 Gilded Limited Edition is its gold frame.
