Oppo, a Chinese electronics manufacturer, mainly known for its Oppo N1 that features a rotating camera, is all set to launch its new smartphone, which seems to be a mid-range device.
The firm has given a teaser for its new smartphone tipped as Oppo Neo, along with some basic specifications and features. The teaser, shown on the Oppo Indonesia's fan page, reveals the device to feature a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display that can also detect touch through gloves.
The pixel density and the resolution of the handset is yet to be disclosed by the firm. However, tracing some features which were included in the popular Oppo N1 smartphone with full-HD display, the upcoming smartphone should feature a 720p resolution at least.
The teaser also mentions about the "Quick Reach" feature which includes gesture-based movements by the user triggering other features on the smartphone.
Since the teased smartphone is said to be a smaller device, most of the specifications are expected to be shared with Oppo's R819 handset. The R819, much like the teased Oppo Neo handset, features a 4.7-inch IPS display with 720p resolution and a 312PPI. More information for Oppo R819 can be viewed here.
While there is no word on the camera optics for the Oppo Neo smartphone, the device might arrive with a 5 to 8-megapixel rear camera.
Oppo released the N1 smartphone in September 2013, an Android device best known for its rotating camera and 13 megapixel sensor. The firm has also announced the availability and pricing of the Oppo N1 for US and European markets, saying that it will be available from December 10 at $599 (Rs. 37,300 approximately) in the US, and 449 euros for European markets.
