After
introducing the smartphone globally last week,
Oppo has launched the Neo 5 (2015) in India, priced at Rs. 9,990. It will be available to purchase from Monday. While the company had last week also introduced the
Oppo Neo 5s, it has not provided any details about the Neo 5s' India launch as yet.
The
Oppo Neo 5 (2015) features slightly improved specifications when compared to
last year's original
Neo 5. The handset runs Color OS 2.0.1i based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clubbed with Mali-400MP2 GPU. The dual-SIM dual-standby features a 4.5-inch (480x854 pixel) IPS display with a pixel density of 219ppi and Dragon Trail Glass protection. The dual-SIM smartphone supports one Micro-SIM card and another Nano-SIM.

Sporting a 8-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX179 BSI sensor and a f/2.2 aperture, the Neo 5 (2015) sports a 2-megapixel front facing camera. The company is touting easy screenshot capturing with three finger swipe, screen-off gestures, Beautify 3.0 image editing mode, double exposure for overlapping two images, Pure Image 2.0+ image creation engine, and double layer metallic structure. It features 8GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
On the connectivity front, the Oppo Neo 5 (2015) includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth. The smartphone packs a 2000mAh non-removable battery, measures in at 131.9x65.5x8mm, and weighs 135 grams.
Also introduced last week, the Oppo Neo 5s features a 4.5-inch (480x854 pixels) FWVGA IPS TFT display and sports gloved and wet touch input functionality. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor that's coupled with an Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
