Oppo N1 Mini With 13-Megapixel Rotating Camera Goes on Sale

Oppo last week quietly launched the Oppo N1 Mini handset, bringing it first to the Malaysian market. The key specifications of the handset were revealed, along with Malaysia pricing. Details for other markets are expected to be announced soon as well.

The launch announcement was made via Oppo Malaysia's Facebook page where an image (seen above) with key specifications of the handset was uploaded on July 31 along with the caption, "OPPO's latest N1 mini is available now at all OPPO Stores/Dealers nationwide! Do check out the 5 inch sibling of our World's First Rotating Camera Smartphone!"

The Oppo N1 Mini is priced at RM 1,398 (roughly Rs. 26,700) as noted by GSM Arena. The

N1 Mini is a single-SIM smartphone that runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the company's custom skin, ColorOS 1.4, on top of it. It features a 5-inch (720x1280 pixel) display made by JDI. It packs a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and Adreno 305 GPU clubbed with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone sports a rotating 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 sensor camera with LED flash.

The Oppo N1 Mini comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, while there is no expandable storage support. The N1 Mini supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G LTE and 3G connectivity options. A 2140mAh battery backs the smartphone which also measures 148.4x72.2x9.2mm and weighs 150 grams. It comes in White, Blue and Yellow colour options.

In June, Oppo introduced the Oppo N1 Mini along with the Oppo R3 at a press event in China for CNY 2699 (approximately Rs. 25,700) and CNY 2299 (approximately Rs. 21,800) respectively.

The Chinese smartphone maker also teased its N1 Mini for an India launch on Monday via Twitter. However, the firm did not mention the exact date of release of the handset.
