Oppo has announced permanent price cuts on three of its smartphones in India. The Chinese manufacturer made the announcement after slashing the prices of the A3s and A5 earlier this month. The company has confirmed Gadgets 360 that the list of smartphones that have received the new prices comprises the Oppo A83 (2018), F9, and the F9 Pro. There is a price drop of as much as Rs. 2,000/ The new prices are importantly rolling out through online and offline retail channels in the country under the company's "Merry Christmas and New Year 2019 Special Offer". The offer sees a partnership with Bajaj Finserv to offer the smartphones with EMI options until January 31.
With the new change, the Oppo A83 (2018) 2GB price has been dropped from Rs. 8,990 to Rs. 8,490. The Oppo F9 that was launched in India back in August at a price tag of Rs. 19,990 has now been priced at Rs. 16,990. The smartphone notably received a price cut of Rs. 1,000 in October that brought it down to Rs. 18,990.
The Oppo F9 Pro that was launched in India alongside the F9 back in August has also received a price drop and is now available at Rs. 21,990 for the standard 64GB storage variant. This is Rs. 2,000 less than the launch price of the smartphone that was set at Rs. 23,990.
Oppo has also dropped the price of the F9 Pro 128GB storage variant that debuted last month at a price tag of Rs. 25,990. The new price is set at Rs. 23,990.
The new prices are rolling out through online marketplaces such as Amazon.in and Flipkart as well as available via offline retailers in India. Oppo has also tied up with Bajaj Finserv to offer EMI options with the smartphones.
Mumbai-based Mahesh Telecom first reported the price cut through a tweet on Wednesday.
As we mentioned, it isn't irregular for Oppo to reduce prices of its smartphones in India. The company just earlier this month dropped the price of the Oppo A3s 2GB RAM model to Rs. 8,990. The Oppo A5 also received a price cut and is currently available with a starting price of Rs. 13,990.
