Oppo A78 5G's India launch will take place on January 16. Oppo has already teased the design of the phone and some of its specifications are already known from its launch in the Malaysian market. In a fresh update, an unboxing video of the Oppo A78 5G has gone live on YouTube that gives a hands-on look at the design, as well as suggests its price and specifications. In the video, the Oppo A78 5G is seen with a dual rear camera setup. The Indian variant of the phone is also said to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. It could be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.

A Youtube channel named Gadgets Point (Hindi) posted an unboxing video of the Oppo A78 5G. As per the video, the handset will cost Rs. 19,000 for the 8GB RAM +128GB storage variant in India.

The video shows off the retail box of the handset that includes a transparent case, charger, USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter, documentation, a SIM-ejector tool, and the smartphone itself. The phone looks like the model that was launched in Malaysia last year.

The video shows the blue colour variant of the Oppo A78 5G with a dual-tone design. The volume rockers are arranged on the right spine of the handset while the power button is seen on the left spine. It has a centrally aligned water-drop style cutout on the display. The speaker grille, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, and SIM tray are seen placed at the bottom.

The Oppo A78 5G is said to run on Android 13-based ColorOS 13 and feature a 6.56-inch HD+ (720x1,1612 pixels) IPS LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Like the smartphone launched in Malaysia, the alleged Indian variant shown in the video is also said to be powered by the 7nm based MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC.

On the back, the Oppo A78 5G is seen with a camera module with two sensors. The camera setup is said to include a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel sensor. Further, there is also an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper. It seems to have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication. Further, the smartphone is said to be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W SuperVOOC fast charging support.

Oppo has already announced that Oppo A78 5G will be launched in India on January 16. The company is yet to announce pricing and availability details for the handset in the country.
