Ahead of the company's Thursday launch event, a purported promotional banner has surfaced on the Internet tipping a new price tag for the OnePlus X. According to the leaked banner posted on Weibo (via gforgames), the OnePlus X will come with a price tag of CNY 1699 (approximately Rs. 17,500).
An earlier report had suggested that the OnePlus X may come with a price tag of CNY 1,399 which translated roughly to Rs. 14,500 or $220. The report had also tipped the CNY 1,399 pricing leaked was the China-only pricing of the handset. A third-party online retailer had also listed the OnePlus X last week and suggested a price tag of $249 (approximately Rs. 16,500), which corroborated with a previous leak, and was said to be the pricing for the international version.
In the new promotional banner, the OnePlus X front panel design is also clearly visible and hints at a departure from the company's present design language for the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2. The leaked image also tips that the handset supports dual-SIM and 4G LTE.
Based on several leaks, the OnePlus X is said to feature a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display; Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 or an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor; 3GB RAM; 16GB inbuilt storage; a 13-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera.
OnePlus last week started sending media invites for the launch event on Thursday in India. The Chinese company has already confirmed another handset is due this year, apart from the OnePlus 2 it launched in July, said to cater to a different type of audience, those who prefer design over specs, and also be more affordable.
