Following
teasers from earlier this month, OnePlus India has sent invites for its October 29 event in New Delhi, scheduled to kick off at 1:30pm IST. Once again following the 'X' theme for the invite (seen above), the Chinese company appears set to launch the
OnePlus X aka
OnePlus Mini smartphone that's been leaked on multiple occasions on the recent past.
OnePlus has
already confirmed another handset is due this year, besides the OnePlus 2 it
launched in July, said to cater to a different type of audience, those who prefer design over specs, and also be more affordable.
The OnePlus X aka OnePlus Mini has been listed and leaked several times in the recent past. A recent online retailer listing carried a price tag of $249 (approximately Rs. 16,500), said to be for the international model.
Another leak had tipped the OnePlus X may come with a price tag of CNY 1,399 which translates roughly to Rs. 14,500 or $220 - but this may be the China-only pricing of the handset.
Retailers, certification authorities, and benchmark sites have
variously tipped the the OnePlus X to sport a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display; quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor or octa-core MediaTek MT6795 SoC; 2GB or 3GB RAM; 16GB inbuilt storage; a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, and a 2450mAh battery.
When
spotted at Tenaa, a Chinese telecommunications certification authority, the OnePlus X sported a slightly different design than the current OnePlus One and OnePlus 2. Three capacitive buttons were seen placed below the display and the side bezels were said to sport a metal build.
