The OnePlus One, the first smartphone by a Chinese startup, has for a while been facing touchscreen issues - something the firm has acknowledged. Some users also report Bluetooth and MMS issues. OnePlus now claims to have fixed these issues, and in partnership with Cyanogen has released a new Cyanogen OS 12 build version YNG1TAS2I3 to resolve them.

It is worth mentioning that the latest build of Cyanogen OS 12 is still based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and not Android 5.1.1 - an update the company recently promised. The update fixes touchscreen sensitivity issues, Bluetooth connectivity issues with several in-car systems, and MMS sending issues on several carriers.

OnePlus users who are on the build YNG1TAS17L, can download the OTA zip file (via Android Police) instead as it weighs as little as 20MB. Users will need to update it via recovery. For those who are not on the same build, the full ROM weighing 566MB can be downloaded alternatively, and flashed in recovery - users should take a backup of their data before applying either the OTA update or the full ROM.

Notably, OnePlus has previously tried to fix the touchscreen issues on OnePlus One handset back in November last year by rolling out an OTA update. In August, OnePlus had pushed the CM11S 33R update for the touch unresponsiveness, but it had only fixed the issue partially.

OnePlus earlier this month gave details on the upcoming Android 5.1 update for the 'One' smartphone. As per the firm, the OnePlus users worldwide would be receiving Android 5.1 Lollipop-based CM 12.1 "soon". Also, the update for OxygenOS with the same Android build is currently on hold and will be made available for the OnePlus One only after the OnePlus 2 itself is launched. As for the Cyanogen OS 12.1 update, the OnePlus team says a preview build is currently undergoing factory testing and Google certification.
