Vikas Agarwal, OnePlus General Manager - India, in a blog post said the company in striving to exceed its customers' expectations has had some "teething problems", and that mistakes have been made along the way in providing support for service related issues. Agarwal added the free extended warranty program is an attempt to get customers' smartphones back in order with "minimal fuss".
The 3-month warranty extension on pending service issues covers the OnePlus One and future smartphones from the company's stables. Agarwal clarified it is applicable on already pending issues, and early adopters who bought the smartphone through the firm's global portal will also be eligible for the warranty.
In an emailed statement, Agarwal adds, "OnePlus is committed to long term growth in India and are investing significant resources in revamping our service offerings. While it is our constant endeavour to close most of our customer service requests within 3 days, this complimentary extended warranty will compensate users in case of any unexpected delays. We have always considered our fans and users to be a priority, and this service is a testimony of our efforts in empowering them further."
