OnePlus 6T was launched just a few days ago, and sale in India hasn't even begun, but reviewers and other pre-release unit users are receiving a new OxygenOS update from the company. The latest OxygenOS 9.0.4 update brings improvements to Nightscape mode and adds Studio Lightning feature to the camera. It also introduced new navigation gestures, and also brings along November security patch as well. Separately, OnePlus 6 users are receiving the new OxygenOS Open Beta 6 update which also brings OnePlus 6T features like Nightscape mode, Studio Lightning, new screenshot experience, and more.
The update size of OxygenOS 9.0.4 for OnePlus 6T users is at 137MB, and the changelog states that it brings along an improved Screen Unlock experience, new navigation gestures like long pressing the fingerprint scanner brings up a new shortcut bar on the screen, improvements for Nightscape mode, introduces Studio Lightning to enhance face contour, optimises standby power consumption, the November security patch, and general bug fixes and improvements. All OnePlus 6T users should have the new update already, and if you haven't received a notification, checking in the Settings menu manually is recommended.
Separately, OnePlus 6 users are getting the OxygenOS Open Beta 6 update, and this update brings a lot of OnePlus 6T features, the important ones being Nightscape mode and Studio Lightning in the Camera app. Given that both the smartphones have a similar camera setup; this doesn't come as a surprise, and the company had announced plans to bring the features to the OnePlus 6 this week, at the OnePlus 6T launch. The changelog includes new navigation gestures, improved UI for About Phone, November security patch, improved screenshot experience, new Google quick search box design, and a new Gallery smoother and improved zooming gesture and magnification. The November security patches have arrived for both the phones, even before Google has released its monthly security bulletin. Therefore, we don't really know what fixes have been issued with the latest patch. The OnePlus 6T will go on sale in India from tomorrow, and the price in India starts at Rs. 37,999 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model, which is only available in a Mirror Black colour variant. The 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage model on the other hand is available in both Midnight Black and Mirror Black colour variants, and has been priced at Rs. 41,999. Finally, the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage model is available only in a Midnight Black colour variant, priced at Rs. 45,999.
