OnePlus 6T was launched globally on Monday at an event in New York as the company's second flagship of the year. The successor to OnePlus 6 brings a number of upgrades including an in-display fingerprint sensor, a larger battery, a larger display, a smaller notch, and more. OnePlus has also removed the headphone jack. Overall, the smartphone comes with top-end specifications alongside a classic design. The handset has now undergone a bunch of durability tests to help you determine its toughness. These come in the form of scratch, burn, and bend tests. YouTube channel JerryRigEverything, which is popular for stress testing flagships, has this time picked the OnePlus 6T.

Zack Nelson from JerryRigEverything put the OnePlus 6T through a round of durability tests to see how well it stands up to extensive abuse. As seen in the video, the smartphone managed to do decently in every test that was thrown at it. OnePlus has touted the presence of Gorilla Glass 6 in the OnePlus 6T. Nelson in the video showcases a scratch test that uses the Mohs scale to examine the hardness of the front glass panel of the OnePlus 6T. Scratches on the OnePlus flagship surface at the sixth level of the scale, while some deeper signs appear at the seventh level. This is quite similar to most other flagships that usually resist scratches until the Moh level six of hardness. Interestingly, Nelson also vigorously scratched the in-display fingerprint sensor, but that did not affect it at all. It was able to unlock the handset with the same accuracy.

When it comes to the burn test, the screen of the OnePlus 6T withstood an open flame for about 30 seconds before the pixels became completely dead. However, they recovered soon after. Coming to the rear end of the OnePlus 6T, the YouTuber said that it picked up more scratches thanks to a frosted glass layer. He said that it got scratches more easily than regular glossy glass. This means, harder metal bodies may leave permanent scratches.

Also, the OnePlus 6T easily passed the bend test. The YouTuber found no flex in the handset, and the bend didn't result in any cracks or kinks.
