OnePlus 5T, the Chinese company's much-anticipated smartphone, is all set to launch on Thursday at an event in New York. The company has revealed availability details of the OnePlus 5T weeks before the actual release. Now, Amazon India has confirmed that the OnePlus 5T will be going on sale in the country on November 21 for Amazon Prime members. The sale will follow a flash sale model, the company had previously confirmed.
The dedicated Amazon listing confirms that the OnePlus 5T will be going on sale in India starting at 4:30pm IST. The upcoming OnePlus 5T is expected to have a bezel-less design to put the company's flagship up against other premium phones. OnePlus has also confirmed that general availability of the OnePlus 5T will commence from November 28 in India.
The company's first all-screen smartphone is likely to be priced competitively as a recent report hinted. Based on reports, the OnePlus 5T is likely to be priced same as that of its predecessor. It is being speculated that OnePlus may phase out the 8GB RAM variant of OnePlus 5 and replace it withthe 5T model. In China, the 8GB RAM variant of OnePlus 5 is priced at CNY 3,499, while it costs $539 in the US and Rs. 37,999 in India.
OnePlus 5T is likely to sport a 6-inch screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and it is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at up to 2.45GHz. It is likely to come in 6GB and 8GB RAM options with 64GB and 128GB storage respectively. On the camera front, the handset is said to sport a 20-megapixel rear camera coupled with another 16-megapixel sensor, making it a dual camera setup at the back. It is also said to have a 16-megapixel front camera. These specifications all match with OnePlus 5; however, differences include a larger 3450mAh battery and a larger 6-inch display. The handset is rumoured to support global 4G LTE bands and support 34 network bands. The presence of Android 8.0 Oreo on the OnePlus 5T is expected to make the overall package an attractive piece of hardware. However, a GeekBench listing says the handset will come with Android 7.1.1 Nougat instead of the new build of Google's mobile OS.
