The OnePlus 3 was launched in India recently at Rs. 27,999. The handset was announced to come with a bundled 12-month accidental damage cover. Unfortunately, the accidental damage cover for the OnePlus 3 doesn't automatically activate for users, and needs to be manually activated.

The 12-month accidental damage cover on the OnePlus 3 is available through the 'OnePlus Care' app powered by Servify and needs to be activated by the user manually after the purchase of the handset. The OnePlus 3's accidental damage cover needs to be activated within 30 days of purchase from Amazon India. The accidental damage protection plan can also be activated via the Servify app, and guides for both are provided on the Servify site.

In order to manually activate the accidental damage cover, users will have to download the OnePlus Care - by Servify app from Google Play. After downloading, users will need to register their device under "My Devices."

To register the device, OnePlus 3 users will have to scan the invoice or click an image of the invoice to verify the purchase. Once registered, the app will show a message saying warranty will be enabled within three days. It's worth noting that ahead of the activation, the Servify team will verify all the details provided by the OnePlus 3 user. In case the above steps do not work, users can directly contact the Servify team via the 'Contact US' section in the app.

The OnePlus Care app, apart from providing the accidental damage cover to the OnePlus 3 users, also provide some features such as allowing users to save bills and warranty information on the cloud, and receive alerts for warranty expiry. On availing the accidental damage cover, users can get the device picked up from their homes or offices; though this feature is available in select cities only. The app will also provide users the real time status updates during repair of the OnePlus 3.
