OnePlus' flagship smartphone is tipped for a release sometime in the second quarter. However, new information about the OnePlus 3 keeps coming in, and the latest is from the CEO Pete Lau himself.

Lau confirms on China's social networking site Weibo (via GizmoChina) that the OnePlus 3 'feels good to hold' in the hand. The OnePlus 2 might have some great specs, but users did complain of it being bulky and heavy in the hand. Earlier, co-founder Carl Pei had also revealed that the OnePlus 3 will feature a "new design", and will not follow on the tracks of the OnePlus 2. He asserted that the OnePlus 3 will "captivate" the users, just like their debut handset OnePlus One did.

Pei also confirmed that the OnePlus 3 will be sold directly by the company in US and other markets as an unlocked smartphone. OnePlus has also promised to come up with a "better buying process", but hasn't provided a tangible outline yet. Furthermore, this time around OnePlus will accept credit cards as well, rather than only PayPal payments, and will ship the handsets for free.

The OnePlus 3 has been subjected to a many leaks, and so far it is tipped to come in two variants. The 32GB inbuilt storage/ 4GB of RAM variant is priced at $308, while the 64GB inbuilt storage/6GB of RAM is expected to be priced at $385. It may feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and be powered by the Snapdragon 820 SoC.

The battery is expected to be around 3000mAh or 3500mAh, while the smartphone is tipped to sport a 16-megapixel rear camera. An 8-megapixel camera will also be available for selfies. There's also a rumoured 'Dash Charge' feature, which is nothing but OnePlus' branding for its quick charging functionality.

As mentioned earlier, OnePlus 3 is expected to get a major design makeover. The 3.5mm audio jack, speakers, and even the camera flash might see some reshuffle. The leaked images so far reveal a very Apple-ish design, but as is the norm with leaks, they should be taken very lightly.
