ZTE's Nubia brand has now started sending out invites for the launch of a new Nubia smartphone - expected to be the Z17 - on June 1. While the smartphone already popped up in a listing early this month, now the company finally seems to be ready to unveil it to the public next month. Notably, the smartphone has also been spotted at TENAA and GeekBench benchmark website as well.
Coming first to the launch, shared on Chinese microblogging website Weibo, the company has only mentioned the words "Nubia Imagination" on the invites. A separate TENAA listing of the smartphone seems to confirm some of the specifications that were earlier tipped by a leaked listing of the Nubia Z17.
As per the TENAA listing, the upcoming Nubia flagship smartphone will come with a 23-megapixel dual camera setup and a 16-megapixel camera at front for taking selfies.
Leaving aside the camera department, the Nubia Z17 is expected to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The smartphone has been tipped to come with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display and pack 4GB of RAM.
The listing suggests that the Nubia Z17 will come with 64GB of built-in storage, which will be expandable up to 128GB. The upcoming Nubia phone has been tipped to measure 152.66x72.44x7.95mm and weigh around 170 grams. The Nubia Z17 is expected to be made available in Silver and Gold colours. The phone has been suggested to house a 3000mAh battery.
GeekBench listing of Nubia Z17 suggests that the phone will be be powered by Snapdragon 835 processor.
Notably, many of these features were already leaked in a listing of the smartphone earlier this month. However, the leaked listing suggested that the phone will be made available with 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM options, while the new listing indicates that there will be a 4GB RAM variant of Nubia Z17 as well. This can either mean that the phone can possibly be offered in three RAM variants.
As these are still leaks, we will have to wait till June 1 to confirm any of these details about the Nubia Z17. Stay tuned to our website for more updates on the smartphone.
