Nokia 9, the company's first penta-camera smartphone that is so far a part of rumours and leaks, has now surfaced on some high-quality renders and a 360-degree video. The latest development is essentially based on the early reports that claimed the presence of five rear-facing camera sensors on the new Nokia flagship. The renders show the circular placement of the rear cameras along with a dual-tone LED flash and a dual-sensor that could be used for proximity detection. Further, there is a Zeiss branding on the camera setup.

Courtesy OnLeaks in collaboration with 91Mobiles, the renders and video highlight the design of the Nokia 9 that is distinct from other Nokia phones, including the Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 8. The phone appears to have seven rings at the back that is expected to have five camera sensors, dual-tone LED flash, and a dual-sensor for proximity detection. The resolution of the sensors is yet to be revealed. However, it is presumed that the penta-camera setup will include a telephoto lens, wide-angle lens, and a depth-sensing sensor among others. There is also a Zeiss logo that sits between the camera sensors. The renders don't show the PureView branding that's been associated with Nokia's imaging-focused handsets, though.

On the front, the renders show a thin-bezel display without having a notch design. There is also a Nokia logo just above the display sensor. The renders also show a USB Type-C port and a loudspeaker grill albeit no 3.5mm headphone jack. There isn't any optical fingerprint sensor. It seems that the phone could have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Also, there is likely to be a Face Unlock feature that will unlock the screen by recognising the face of the user.

There is a "glass sandwich" design that has glass panels on the front and back and a metal frame in between. Since the back has a glass panel, it is safe to presume that the phone will have wireless charging support. Further, the power/ lock button and volume rocker are available on the right, while a SIM card tray is available on the top. It is also said that the smartphone will have 155x75x7.9mm of dimensions. Moreover, the phone is designed to have three microphones - one is at the bottom, while the second one is integrated into the antenna band on the top edge and the third one is located at the rear side.

If we look at some recent reports, the Nokia 9 will come with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and feature a 6.01-inch display along with a Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is also rumoured to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage. There could be single and dual-SIM options and a 4,150mAh battery.

While Nokia licensee brand HMD Global hasn't revealed any details around the Nokia 9, it is speculated that the handset could debut sometime in early 2019. The company could use MWC 2019 as the place to give some information around the new model.
