HMD Global last month started sending out invites for its August 16 event, where the company is expected to unveil its flagship Nokia 8 smartphone. Now, the upcoming smartphone has made an appearance at several benchmark websites including GeekBench, GFXBench, and AnTuTu before its official launch later this month.
The GFXBench listing, with model numbers TA-1004, TA-1012, TA-1052, mentions the name Nokia 9 but the specifications are most likely to be of Nokia 8. The listing was spotted by Slash Leaks and suggests that the smartphone will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and sport a 5.3-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) display. It is expected to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. In terms of optics, the smartphone has been tipped to come with a dual camera setup with two 12-megapixel sensors. The listing indicates that the upcoming Nokia 8 flagship will be capable of recording videos in 4K resolution.
Moving to the AnTuTu listing of the Nokia 8, with model numbers TA-1004 and TA-1052, the listings suggest that the handset runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and comes with a QHD display. Just like the GFXBench listing, the smartphone has been tipped to be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM. Interestingly, in terms of optics, the smartphone has been listed to come with two 13-megapixel sensors at the back. The device listing says that it will come with 64GB of built-in storage.
The Geekbench listing of the Nokia 8 with model numbers TA-1004 and TA-1052, spotted by Playfuldroid, tips the smartphone to come with similar features as the other two listings.
Notably, a retailer on popular Chinese website Taobao was seen selling an early prototype of the smartphone in Copper Gold colour, which was spotted recently, as per a report by GSMArena. To recall, Romanian site mobilissimo.ro reported earlier that in Romania, Vodafone listed the Nokia 8 for EUR 517.42 (roughly Rs. 38,900).
