Days after its early certification was spotted, the TENAA listing of the Nokia 3310 4G has now been updated to detail some of its key specifications. The handset appears to deliver a faster experience through a dual-core processor and more memory over the original Nokia 3310. Also, it is listed with larger storage space than the previous Nokia 3310 models. It is expected that HMD Global would unveil the new Nokia 3310 model at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in late February.
The updated TENAA listing confirms that the Nokia 3310 4G (model number TA-1077) will support various network bands, including Band 38, Band 39, Band 40, and Band 41, alongside standards such as GSM, TD-SCDMA, and TD-LTE. This suggests that the handset would support some 4G networks in India, though a different variant for the Indian market can be expected with wider support. Further, the listing points to the presence of a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, coupled with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of onboard storage. Contrarily, the original Nokia 3310 had a 360MHz single-core processor and 64MB of storage. The early online appearance of the new Nokia phone also highlights YunOS 5.2.0.
Despite the faster chip and enhanced memory as well as the larger storage, the Nokia 3310 4G variant would have the same aesthetics of its original model. The phone is listed with a 2.4-inch TFT, non-touch display that has a resolution of 240x240 pixels. Further, the certification listing reveals a 1200mAh battery - identical to the standard Nokia 3310 variant. The updated TENAA listing was first spotted by Fonearena, and no further specifications were listed.
The launch of the Nokia 3310 4G variant is speculated for MWC 2018 as the HMD Global brought the original Nokia 3310 as the comeback of the Nokia brand at last year's MWC in Barcelona. However, the Finnish company is also hosting an event in China on January 19 where it is expected to unveil new members of the Nokia smartphone family. This is rumoured to include the flagship Nokia 9 as well as the Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 8 (2018). Some other Nokia models also emerged recently that would come this year to expand the market presence of the Finland-headquartered company.
