There has been a lot of news in the past week regarding the launch of the Motorola's Moto X on July 11. However, it turns out, all that was mere speculation.

Android Community reached out to Motorola and Google who confirmed that no event was planned for July 11.

The rumours started making waves ever since Motorola launched a teaser ad last week in some major newspapers in US like The New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post, hinting at a customisable smartphone called Moto X. Some saw the ad, which featured two people jumping to form a XI (Roman numerals for 11), as an indication that Motorola may launch the Moto X on July 11.

The rumour was further fuelled by Leo Laporte, a tech blogger, who confirmed that a small event for not more than 50 people was scheduled for July 11. However, Android Community, after confirming with Motorola and Google, claims that this is a private gathering by former Apple employee, Guy Kawasaki, who's now working as an adviser for Motorola. In simple words, for now, Motorola and Google have nothing to reveal.

Of late, Motorola has been in the news as alleged images of Moto X and DROID Ultra have leaked consistently. Earlier on Tuesday, DROID Ultra, was fully revealed as the images of the device were leaked. It was also learned that Motorola will soon launch three devices - the DROID MAXX (XT1080M), DROID Mini (XT1030), and the DROID Ultra. Moto X has also been spotted in various leaks.
