Lenovo-owned Motorola's Moto G series of mid-range smartphones is due for an upgrade and the rumour mill has been churning out reports around the upcoming Moto G6 series that might include the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus. While there has been no official communication from Motorola, exclusive images and specifications of the Moto G6 Plus have surfaced online that reveal certain features.
According to an Android Headlines report, the Moto G6 Plus will be made available in Silver, Gold, White, Blue, and Cyan colour options. The report also states that the phone will feature a metal and glass body with a curved back panel. On the back of the smartphone will be a dual camera setup with dual LED flash below that. Right below the camera setup is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Apart from that, the phone is expected to sport an 18:9 aspect ratio display, a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, and a 3250mAh non-removable battery. The Moto G6 Plus is expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. Talking about the phone's button placement, the power key and volume controls will be located on the right, and the front will have on-screen buttons for navigation. The report claims that the Moto G6 Plus will possibly be launched at MWC 2018, alongside the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play.
Earlier this week, prolific tipster Evan Blass had revealed codenames for the upcoming Moto G6 Play, Moto G6, and Moto G6 Plus, which are Ashley, Blaine, and Teller respectively. Additionally, the Moto G6 Play has been spotted on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 430 SoC and 3GB RAM. This variant is also expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. It is said that the Moto G6 Plus will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC.
