The anticipated successor of the Moto G (expected to be called the Moto G2 or Moto G+1) is rumoured to launch on September 10 in only a dual-SIM variant.

According to GSMArena, the alleged Motorola Moto G2 (a.k.a Moto G+1) 'should be available for purchase on September 10', as per a retailer claiming to have been tipped by a Motorola representative. The report added that some retailers should get the first batch of the alleged Moto G2 by the end of August, while another batch will begin shipping to retailers on September 10.

Considering the tipped September 10 release, the report also speculates that Motorola will unveil the anticipated Moto G2 during IFA 2014, which is scheduled from September 5 to September 10. GSMArena claims the Moto G2 will be priced at around EUR 250 (approximately Rs. 20,400) - significantly higher than the predecessor.

Last week, the specifications of the alleged successor to the Moto G, with model number Motorola XT1063, were published on GFXBench. The Motorola XT1063 was seen to include a 5-inch 720p display; a Snapdragon 400 chipset with a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 CPU; an Adreno 305 GPU; 1GB of RAM; an 8-megapixel rear camera; 2-megapixel front camera; 8GB internal storage, and run Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

In July, the handset was also leaked in purported live images from a Spanish website, along with some specifications. The front design of the alleged Moto G2 seemed inspired by the Moto E (Review | Pictures), housing two similar front-facing speakers, and almost the same curved corners with sensors or camera in the top right corner. The report had claimed it would be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor paired with an Adreno 305 GPU, along with a 720p HD screen. It also noted that the Moto G2 will be a dual-SIM device and will sport an 8-megapixel camera instead of the 5-megapixel rear camera as on the Moto G.
