Besides Samsung and HTC, which are set to launch their flagship smartphones at MWC 2015 in Barcelona, Microsoft will also be hosting a media event at MWC and has started sending invites.
The invite unfortunately fails to hint what we can expect from the event. However, it does tell us the time and day of announcement that is 08:30am CET (1 pm IST) on March 2, the first day of the Mobile World Congress 2015.
HDBlog website, which first got hold of the invite (via Phonearena) expects the Redmond-based tech firm to introduce a low-end Lumia 6xx handset at the event. Rumours about the launch of the successor to Lumia 1320 are also in the air for the event. The successor to Lumia 1320 was recently leaked with specifications in December.
As previously reported, it is expected the next Microsoft flagship smartphone will not launch at MWC 2015 but instead arrive 'later this summer'. The flagship is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 SoC, with Qualcomm hinting at this last month when confirming its partnership with Microsoft for the chipset .
Another report states that the event might also see a low-cost version of Lumia 830, which launched in India in October last year. However, one would have to wait until March 2 to know what Microsoft has in store for its fans.
