We already know that Microsoft is making efforts to convince smartphone manufacturers to adopt the Windows Phone platform. This could very well include HTC, with the Redmond giant hinting the same when describing its partnership with the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer.

Nick Parker, Microsoft's VP of OEM Partners, during the Computex trade show hinted that the company is readying to launch a new Windows Phone with HTC, according to CNET.

When Parker was asked about device partners, he said, "I'd love to break some news here if I could. But instead I'll just say that Microsoft will continue to have a great relationship with HTC. New things are coming, so get excited."

Previously @evleaks had claimed that HTC is preparing to launch a mid-range W8 Windows Phone 8.1 device on Verizon in Q3. The tipster also added that it will include HTC's BoomSound and Duo Cameras, as seen in the One M8. Other than that not much is known about the device as yet.

Notably, HTC hasn't launched any Windows Phone device since the Windows Phone 8X and Windows Phone 8S back in 2012.

During the show, Microsoft also showcased a number of Windows Phone 8.1 devices from hardware partners. The new list of partners includes BLU, Prestigio, InFocus and Yezz.

"We were honoured to once again host a keynote at Computex, where we talked about our view of computing in a mobile-first, cloud-first world, how we're delivering on our vision today with rapid delivery of enhancements in Windows, new licensing and programs for an expanded set of partners, and how we see computing evolving into the future to become more human-centric. We showcased nearly 40 new Windows and Windows Phone devices from our partners around the world," Microsoft noted on their official blog.
