Yu announced the number of units going on sale in a tweet on Tuesday. This is the first flash sale that will see 30,000 units of the Yureka smartphone going up for sale in India.
Update: The company soon after the sale announced that 30,000 units of the Yureka smartphone had gone out of stock in 6 seconds. It added that registrations for the next sale on March 5 are now open.
The last flash sale for the Yu Yureka smartphone smartphone saw 15,000 units going out of stock in 4 seconds while the fifth sale saw 25,000 units made available that went out of stock in 4 seconds. The fourth flash sale saw 15,000 units of the Yureka smartphone going out of stock in 4 seconds, much like the last sale. Meanwhile the third flash sale of saw 10,000 smartphones going out of stock in 3 seconds.
Last week, Amazon India, the exclusive online partner for Micromax's Yu Yureka, announced the 'Golden Ticket' sale for select customers. The sale was meant for "customers who showed interest to buy the Yu Yureka" earlier but were unable to avail the product due to limited supply and other issues.
Earlier this month, Micromax's Yu Yureka started receiving its first OTA (over-the-air) update that brought bug fixes. Notably, it was an incremental update and added security fixes, improvements for proximity sensor and dual-SIM functionality.
Priced at Rs. 8,999, Micromax's Yu Yureka (Review | Pictures) offers some rather impressive specifications at the price. The dual-SIM smartphone features Cat. 4 4G LTE connectivity, and runs Cyanogen OS 11 based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It bears a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3; a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC (MSM8939); an Adreno 405 GPU; 2GB of RAM; a 13-megapixel Sony Exmor CMOS sensor rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and flash; a front-facing 5-megapixel fixed-focus camera; 16GB of inbuilt storage expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB), and a 2500mAh Li-Po battery.
