The Micromax Canvas L (A108) is a dual-SIM device (GSM+GSM) that runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It joins the other KitKat-based Micromax phones - Micromax Bolt A069, Micromax Canvas Entice, Micromax Canvas Fire (A093), Micromax Canvas Fire (A104), Micromax Canvas Engage, Micromax Unite 2 (Review | Pictures) and Micromax Canvas Gold.
The Canvas L features a 5.5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582M) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, while also housing a 2-megapixel fixed focus front-facing camera. The device also includes a 2350mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 210 hours of standby time. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, and 3G.
It comes preloaded with apps such as Kingsoft Office, BMS, Clean Master, Games club, Getit, Hike, Miskin, Mi Games, Mi Insurance, Mi live, Mi security, MAD, Opera Mini, Swift key, and True Caller.
Last week, Micromax, in partnership with Aircel, launched the Canvas Beat smartphone in India at Rs. 9,999. The handset would be exclusively retailed by Aircel in the country and comes preloaded with the Aircel Music app with 1,000 free songs.
Micromax also launched the budget Android 4.4 KitKat-based Canvas smartphone, the Canvas Fire (A104), in July at Rs. 6,999.
