Separately, a Mumbai-based retailer has also posted retail box image of the Micromax Canvas Juice 3 with specifications details. The retail box image tips that the handset may soon be going on sale in the country via retail stores.
The Micromax Canvas Juice 3 is a successor to the Canvas Juice 2 that was launched at Rs. 8,999 in March this year. Much like other Canvas Juice-series smartphones, the Canvas Juice 3 packs a large battery - 4000mAh in this case.
The Canvas Juice 3 smartphone is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It comes with a 5-inch (720x1280 pixels) HD IPS display sporting Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The e-commerce website claims that the handset features a 5.5-inch display; though the retail box claims it just a 5-inch screen.
The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek (6580) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, the Micromax Canvas Juice 3 includes 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. It features sensors such as accelerometer, magnetometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The Canvas Juice 3 is said to offer a talk time of up to 14 hours and up to 514 hours of standby time.
Micromax recently announced strategic collaboration with chipmaker MediaTek to launch mid-to-premium 4G LTE smartphones powered by the MT6735 and high-end Helio chipsets, like the Helio X10. The Indian domestic handset maker also announced its latest Canvas Fire 4G smartphone.
