However, thanks to an online retailer's listing on Wednesday, we already know that the Canvas Gold might be priced at or around Rs. 24,000. Since this is a third-party store, one cannot be certain if this will be the official launch price when the phone is unveiled in India.
The Micromax Canvas Gold (A300) is the company's fourth handset - after the Micromax Canvas Entice, Canvas Engage and the recently launched Unite 2 (Review | Pictures) - to run on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
The Micromax Canvas Gold is a dual-SIM smartphone and sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) TFT LTPS (low temperature poly silicon) display. The Canvas Gold is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT 6592T) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB inbuilt storage with no word on expandable storage.
The smartphone features 16-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash; and 5-megapixel front-facing autofocus camera. The rear camera on the Canvas Gold includes features such as scene detection, tuning, high dynamic, HDR, face recognition, Panorama and geo tagging.
The Canvas Gold packs a 2300mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 210 hours of standby time. Connectivity options on the smartphone include GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0, Micro-USB, and 3G.
Earlier this week, Micromax entered the Windows Phone ecosystem and announced the Canvas Win W092 and Canvas Win W121, priced at Rs. 6,500 and Rs. 9,500 respectively.
