After recently entering the Windows Phone ecosystem, Micromax is set to launch another Android 4.4.2 KitKat based smartphone in the country, the Canvas Gold A300. While we saw the Canvas Gold A300 in leaked in some images last week with some specifications, the same handset has now been listed as available to purchase via an online retailer website for Rs. 23,999. No official announcement has yet been made.
The price of the dual-SIM supporting Micromax Canvas Gold A300 handset falls in line with our previous report that stated the alleged handset to come with an MRP of Rs. 24,000. The online retailer listing also gives us the smartphone's specifications, which too are the same as reported before.
The Canvas Gold A300 features a 5.5-inch full-HD display; octa-core processor (unspecified chipset) clocked at 2GHz; 2GB of RAM; 32GB of inbuilt storage (no details about storage expandability via microSD card); 16-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash; and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Notably, the firm till now has only Canvas Knight as the only smartphone to sport a 16-megapixel rear camera.
If the listing is accurate, the Micromax Canvas Gold A300 will be the fourth handset from the company - after the Micromax Canvas Entice, Canvas Engage and the recently launched Unite 2 (Review | Pictures) - to run on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
Some of the additional information found in the Infibeam listing is the Sony image sensors used in the smartphones camera, GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 and a 2300mAh Li-Po battery rated to deliver 8 hours of talk time and 210 hours of standby time.
