The Micromax Canvas Blaze comes with bundled offers from MTS which include 2GB of free data, 1000 free minutes for MTS to MTS local calling, and 120 free minutes for other local and STD calls, all of which are applicable per month for six months.
The Micromax Canvas Blaze supports dual-SIM functionality with GSM+CDMA support. It runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box, and features a 5-inch display (unspecified resolution). The Canvas Blaze is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1GHz along with 768MB of RAM. It sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera and also includes a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone supports expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card, though there is no word on inbuilt storage. Connectivity options on the Canvas Blaze include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE and 3G. Notably, the Canvas Blaze supports 3G-EVDO networks. It packs a 1850mAh battery.
Commenting on the launch, Vikas Jain, co-founder, Micromax, said, "Our new offering on 3G EVDO + GSM dual-SIM smartphone based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor will help GSM consumers take advantage of the superior 3G EVDO network of MTS while retaining their GSM number."
Leonid Musatov, chief marketing & sales officer - MTS India on the announcement said, "Canvas Blaze has been bundled with free data and voice benefits for 6 months providing a complete package for the customers."
Earlier this week, Micromax introduced its next mid-range phablet, the A114 Canvas 2.2 for the Indian market. The domestic handset maker has listed the Canvas 2.2 on its official site, though it has not revealed the pricing and availability details.
