Micromax looks set to soon launch a new smartphone under its Bolt series, the Bolt A066, as it has been listed on the company website. The pricing and availability details of the smartphone are not yet known.
The Micromax Bolt A066 is the successor to the Bolt A065 which was launched in November last year. Both smartphones share the same specifications except that the Bolt A066 is slightly toned-down in terms of battery and screen size. The handset features a 3.5-inch HVGA (320x480 pixels) resolution IPS display instead of a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) TFT LCD display, and a smaller 1300mAh battery as compared to the Bolt A065's 2000mAh battery.
The Android 4.4.2 KitKat-based Bolt A066 is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby. It is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6571 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone sports a 2-megapixel fixed focus rear camera with LED flash, and also houses a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The Bolt A066 includes 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
Its 1300mAh battery is rated to deliver up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 160 hours of standby time. The smartphone comes with GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB connectivity options. Unfortunately, the Bolt A066 does not support 3G, according to the official listing.
Micromax Bolt A066 comes pre-installed with some apps, namely M! Live, MAD, Reverie, Clean Master, M!Games, Truecaller, and Opera Mini.
The Micromax Bolt A066 is likely to go against some other budget KitKat smartphones such as the Karbonn A5 Turbo, Celkon Campus A35K, Lava Iris 310, and Spice Smart Flo Mi-359 - all priced below Rs. 4,000.
