Micromax seems all geared up to launch its next smartphone in India, as the yet-to-be-announced A200 smartphone's image and specifications have been leaked.

The news comes from MMXNewscaster, a source of leaks related to Micromax mobiles. According to the tipster, Micromax's upcoming smartphone would be dubbed A200; however, we assume that this might be the model number of the alleged smartphone, while the final name is yet-to-be-revealed. Further, the leaked specifications of the alleged Micromax A200 smartphone include a 4.7-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection; 1.3GHz quad-core processor; 1GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM, with no word on the inbuilt storage.

The rumoured Micromax A200 is said to sport an 8-megapixel rear camera, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Other specifications leaked include a 1800mAh battery, while the tipster claims that the alleged Micromax A200 will boast a 7.9mm sleek profile.

The tweet by MMXNewscaster said, "Micromax A200: 4.7" HD, 1.3 GHz Quad Core, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB ROM, 8 MP, 5 MP, 7.9 mm, 1800 mAh Li-Po, Gorilla Glass 2."

The MMXNewscaster has also posted an image which purportedly reveals the Micromax A200's front panel. The leaked image shows the alleged A200 sporting a similar design to the Canvas smartphone range and includes three capacitive touch buttons below the display. As of now, there is no word on the OS of the alleged Micromax A200 smartphone.

Earlier this month, Micromax, in partnership with telecom service provider MTS, launched the Canvas Blaze in India at Rs. 10,990.

A recent report suggested that Micromax has been aiming for the global smartphone market with its upcoming high-end devices. The report revealed that the unlisted company sold 6.8 million phones in the July-September quarter including 2.2 million smartphones, and has been on track to surpass $1 billion in sales in the fiscal year ending March 2014.

Update: The rumoured Micromax A200 was previously referred to as the Micromax A2000 by us, as the source @MMXNewscaster had used the latter in its initial tweet.
