Xiaomi on Tuesday announced the addition of two affordable earphones - Mi Earphones Basic and Mi Earphones - in its portfolio in India. Cheaper of the two, Mi Earphones Basic has been priced at Rs. 399 and is available in Black and Red colour variants. On the other hand, the Mi Earphones have been priced at Rs. 699 and will be available in Black and Silver options. Both products are on sale on Mi.com.
The Mi Earphones Basic are said to be "Designed for India" and come with features such as 'ultra low bass' and an aluminium alloy sound chamber. Xiaomi claims the headset equips a 3rd generation "balanced damping system" which helps improve sound and air flow thus producing balanced audio output. The AUX jack, like other Xiaomi earphones, has been bent to a 45-degree angle allowing for longer durability. Lastly, it comes with Play/ Pause/ Answer control (compatible with all Android and iOS devices) and a microphone.
The Mi Earphones comes with dynamic bass and a metal sound chamber, the latter created as the result of a 20-step process. Equipped with volume and answer/ end call buttons on the wired remote, the headset has a Kevlar fibre cable to enhance durability. The Mi Earphones also come with 3rd generation balanced damping system that creates a transparent sound. Xiaomi offers the ear buds in XS, S, and L sizes to fit most ear sizes. This one, unlike the Mi Earphones Basic, has a headphone jack angled at 90-degrees. Apart from that, it is said to have been subjected to over 700 reliability tests.
Xiaomi, in December last year, announced its latest noise-cancelling in-ear headphones in China. Priced at CNY 299 (roughly Rs. 3,100), the headphones come with a 3.5mm jack.
