The South Korean giant has now announced that it will be expanding the availability of its flagship phablet, the Optimus G Pro to 40 new countries, starting with Italy, this week.
According to a press note released the company, following the successful debut of the phone in North America and Asia, LG Electronics (LG) has announced the global rollout of the full-HD LTE smartphone, Optimus G Pro, in select markets in Europe, Central/South America, Middle East, Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States.
Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said, "We are excited to be bringing our award-winning Optimus G Pro to a worldwide audience. The Optimus G Pro showcases the next generation smartphone trends with its large display, high-performance features and innovative mobile experience."
However, TechRadar suggests that the LG Optimus G Pro ( Review | Pictures) roll out may miss UK. The report further claims that LG's UK product manager Shaun Musgrave has confirmed the company's latest flagship handsets won't be released in the UK during the rollout.
The LG Optimus G Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and comes with 2GB RAM. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels at 400ppi pixel density. The device comes with a 3,140mAh battery. It also comes with a number of pre-loaded features like dual camera recording, virtual reality panorama and QSlide.
The rollout comes at a time when LG is reportedly working on the successor to its Optimus G, the Optimus G2. The company is rumoured to launch the device in an event scheduled for August 7 this year.
