The South Korean company notes that the LG G3 Screen smartphone has been "developed specifically for the Korean market" and will debut this week in the country. LG has not revealed the pricing of the G3 Screen smartphone; though CNET suggests the handset will be exclusively available via LG Uplus and has been priced at SKW 8,03,000 (Rs. 46,500 approximately).
The first mobile application processor (AP) from LG, the Nuclun, features an octa-core processor (with four Cortex-A15 cores, and four Cortex-A7 cores) apart from ARM's big.LITTLE core management technology. It also supports LTE-A Cat.6 network and can offer a maximum download speed of up to 225Mbps while keeping backward compatibility with current LTE networks.
Much like other G3 (Review | Pictures) variants, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat-based LG G3 Screen also features UX derived from the flagship smartphone. Some of the features of the G3-derived UX skin include the Touch and Shoot feature; Gesture Shot; Knock Code, and QuickMemo+.
The LG G3 Screen features a 5.9-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by an octa-core (1.5GHz quad-core ARM A15 + 1.2GHz quad-core ARM A7) Nuclun processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage with support for expandable storage (unspecified maximum storage).
The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS+ and LED flash while also comes with a 2.1-megapixel font camera. The LG G3 Screen is backed by a 3000mAh removable battery. It measures 157.8x81.8x9.5mm and weighs 182 grams. The G3 Screen has been launched in Black and White colour variants.
Commenting on the launch, Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said, "Nuclun opens up a new chapter in LG's history of innovation in the mobile industry. With this in-house solution, we will be able to achieve better vertical integration and further diversity our product strategy against stronger competition. Nuclun will give us greater flexibility in our mobile strategy going forward."
